You may not recognize the name of this Texarkana-based worship band, Pocket Full of Rocks, but for the past decade they've been used by God wherever young people are worshipping. Both their path and their music recall another great youth worship band, Among Thorns. PFOR's music rocks with the same majestic themes, offered with a heartfelt sincerity that has been igniting young people across the country.
They haven't served ten years in the worship business for nothing. Each song burns a path to the Throne, and drips with fervency. The first radio single and a band favorite, the title track is knee-dropping worship framed by lead vocalist Michael Farren's passionate delivery and majestic strings. If you like things a bit more raw, and I do, check out the burning guitars of "This is the Life." PFOR likes to make you think too, a potent trait in worship leaders. "Bigger" challenges us to let God out of our box, to let Him go bigger in our lives. Farren's vocal chops are highlighted in closer "Losing Me," but not at the expense of the song's compelling message. Nicely done and a helpful worship resource.
